Charts & graphs
Our charts and graphs offer a wide range of features which you can tailor according to your trading style and strategy. Our charts and graphs are set to standard charting features when you first log in, so red and green candlesticks, the x-axis with the times and the y-axis with the price. These features can be changed by following the steps below.
Chart Styles
If you don't like trading with popular candlesticks and would rather trade with bars, lines, histograms, etc., you can change the charting style once you have opened a chart and then by clicking on 'Display' and selecting the appropriate chart for your trading techniques.
Colours
Traditional candlesticks display a green candle when the price is bullish (strengthening or going up) and red when the price is bearish (weakening or going down). If you rather view your charts in different colours you can do this by creating what we call a 'New Theme'. Once you have opened your chart, simply click on 'Display', scroll to the bottom and click on '+ New Theme'.
Upon clicking on 'New Theme', a pop-up box will appear and that's where you'll be able to change your candlestick colours, the background of the charts, the text of the axis lines and more. You can then name the theme, save it and apply it to any of your charts. You can also create multiple themes and interchange them.
Times
The times on our charts are currently set to the UK (GMT) timezone. If you would rather read the time where you are located, you can do this by changing the timezone under the locale field. Once you have opened your chart, simply click on 'Display', scroll to the bottom and click on 'Change Timezone'.
Upon clicking on 'Change Timezone', a pop-up box will appear and that's where you'll be able to change the time on your charts.
Studies / Indicators
We offer over 100 types of indicators on TN Trader. To add any of these indicators to your charts, simply open a chart up, click on 'Studies' and select the indicator you wish to add/use on your charts - our indicators are listed from A - Z. Can't find one? Please contact the Customer Success team via live chat or email at support.au@tradenation.com.
If we look at Moving Averages as an example, simply scroll down to 'Moving Averages', click on it and a pop-up box will appear. From here you can then select the type of moving average, whether that be exponential, weighted, simple, etc., and then amend the period and colour and select 'Done'.
